Medium-Sized Breeds

If you are planning for the medium-sized dog breeds who are between 18 and 24 Inch (45-60 cm), then this category is right for you. Within this grouping can be found the popular retrievers and the various collies. The largest of the terrier breeds and some relative newcomers such as the Vizsla also fall into this category. It needs to be remembered, however, that the larger the dog, the greater will be the cost of keeping it. This is a direct reflection of their food requirements. The labelling on dog foods generally lists the suggested amount needed by different breeds. As a rough guide, the dogs featured in this will need between one and a half and two and a half 14 oz (400 g) can daily, with a corresponding volume of biscuit meal, typically given in two feeds in the morning and early evening.
